Hi! I am Jacob Ryan Durazo.  I am 14 years old and a active member of St. George Parish.  I am applying for the Bishop's Scholarship for Aquinas High School.  I have just recently graduated from St. George Parish School, where I have been living my school's SLEs for the past nine years.  I will be attending Aquinas High School in August, where I hope to bring my good spirit, friendly nature, and incredible leadership skills to the the rest of the school.  



These past years at St. George, have prepared me for my future to come.  As the Student Council President, I was taught to be a good leader. As a member of the honors and liturgy choir, I was able to overcome my fear of public speaking and singing.  I have been able to dedicate my time serving the community with over 70 hours of community service, and I learned good sportsmanship while playing football for my school.  I have maintained a GPA of over 4.0 from 6th grade to 8th grade and I even had an "About My School" article published in the Inland Catholic Byte.



I am asking for your consideration in selecting me as the receiver of the Bishop's Scholarship because I believe I will be able to use this award to better serve my community at Aquinas High School.  I truly believe that attending, and eventually graduating from, Aquinas High School will help me to live out the teachings of the gospel and guide me to be the Catholic Leader of Tomorrow.
